Default Schwinn Point Beach owners, it doesn't get any closer!

OK guys, if you want to match your paint here it is! Testors 1629, looks about as close as you would want. Thanks to another member who now escapes me, but check this out. You can order the paint online, 1 can will do a couple of tanks. WICKED metal flake and gloss.

Hey Motoschwinn, that Point beach is what they are supposed to look like! Most excellent build and paint! I like that exhaust routed back to the rear. I just bought a used PB today and I will use your paint idea to match colors, thank you and the other guy who found the color. Did you end up putting a clearcoat on the tank or are you just being careful with the gas? Hey, 3200 miles is awesome on the old engine...do you ride that beast every day to work...do you have a digital speedo with odometer, or is that mileage and estimate. Just curious, Thanks and good job, Smitty.

I still need to clearcoat the tank, I'm still looking for the perfect decals. My digital speedo broke at a little over 3000, so I'm guessing on the miles, I'm sure they are way more than 3300. When the motor was on the first bike, the suburban, I rode it a LOT!! This motor is one of the real good ones, I'm lucky. I did break it in really easy and I think that had something to do with it lasting too.

Thanks for the paint info, I just finished a ladies point beach with a rear mount Titan XC50 4 stroke engine and a springer fork, haven't been able to ride it, too much snow. I got a few scratches to touch up. I would like to replace the drive sprocket mounted to the spokes with a free wheel type sprocket mounted to the rear axle but don't know how or what parts to get.

What type of digital speedo did you use? I have not been able to get one to work yet. Smitty

Motoschwinn,

Very very nice! You put a lot of detail into this bike and it shows...

As neat as any I've seen...The exhaust is awesome!

It was a Cateye I think, I tossed it the trash. This summer I'll put a old style speedo on it, something that loos retro, and I can paint the housing to match.

Thanks for the nice comments Jim! That exhaust is a poo-poo pipe, I paid around $50 for it. Helped on performance some, bike pulls a bit better on hills. It is louder than stock. I just HAD to get away from the stock muffler, I hated the way it just hung down.

This summer I'm planning on cleaning up the wiring, installing new fenders that are built better that wont crack like the cheap ones on it. And more detailing. My goal is to make the bike look like it was meant to have the motor if that makes any kind of sense... I think another help was a better aircleaner...

Hey Moto...if you want the whole package to match really nice you can also paint the engine side covers with the same paint...and the chainguard too...it really adds a lot to the 'curb-appeal'.

Honestly I kinda like the motor in the silver and black. I don't use the chain guard that came with the kit... But I appreciate your feedback!
