I might be missing something or my eyes are deceiving me... but have you used a spool speedo drive off the front wheel to power the headlight?
If so its a brilliant idea... I love the bike

Your eyes are not decieving you, really, but you can't see what's in the headlight housing. I wanted to do exactly that, but so far, it's battery powered. The speedometer is in the headlight housing so that is what the drive is going to right now. Like I said.....never done.
