Cupped washers for chain tensioner
Here's a photo.
You can use 'em on either side to offset the tensioner a little too.
Way better than tape or rubber!

They give the tank a little more bite too.
Make 'em with a vise and a ball peen hammer- just don't forget your eye protection and watch the boys too....don't ask me how I know.
