tail pipe fabrication

I thought Iwould run a tail pipe , off the stock muffler of my 2 stroke motor . Does the use of 1/2 inch soft copper tubing make sense , for the bending ease as opposed to rigid tubing or has anyone a better idea?

On one bike I used a set of lawnmower handlebars. There's already a bend in them. Just cut to length and Wa La, a chrome pipe extension. Just an idea.
