Any way to add a new search criteria field?

I'm not sure how the basics of the board layouts go, what you can add or modify, but was wondering if it was possible to add a search by state/location feature? Something like a find all members/posts from Location=state.... instead of having to use a keyword or username.

Maybe even subforums for NE/NW/C/SE/SW if the above is not possible.
