Question air filter mod?

has anyone ever drilled holes into the air box cover to get more air into the carb? stupid idea? It seems like a few extra holes might make a diff.

More airflow, more fuel, more power..I retrofitted a larger Mikuni carb and made an air filter and couldnt get the jetting right and finally figuered I DIDNT drill enough holes. Ran great without filter I found out, so added holes and runs GREAT now....

Couldn't hurt, I added several holes to mine. However at the same time I reworked the exhaust and adjusted the clips in the carb. All in all it made a difference... I should have done them one at a time in retrospect. And tested the bike after each.... BUT I had a 12 pack next to me, (or in me) and got a bit motivated...

I agree wont hurt anything, maybe run leaner, so might have to adjust needle clip.

More air, more fuel...........
