Poll: New HT gas ball valve
My thinking is that the supplied HT tank petcock is a real piece of junk, to put it politely. Mine busted while riding. I have sourced a great ball valve. What are your thoughts and how much would you spend on such a valve? I know it would be great if they cost $2, but for a quality valve, that's a no go.
Choice #4 should be: "Anything over $10, forget about it Pablo, what are YOU thinking!!"

Re: Poll: New HT gas ball valve
I can get a 1/4" valve around here for about 4 dollars.

Re: Poll: New HT gas ball valve
my valve was cracked when it arrived. I went to a mom-n-pop hardware store and got a real nice brass valve for about 3$ tax included.

Re: Poll: New HT gas ball valve
1/4" Valve won't fit a HT tank without some form of adapter.
My mom and pop hardware store was $15 for a brass valve. If you found a good valve for $3, it must have been priced in 1969. There are cheaper valves out there, but they aren't precision ball valves.

Re: Poll: New HT gas ball valve
I've had two aluminium petcocks break from vibration. I replaced them with the cheesier looking brass ones that now come with the kits but can't remember what I paid for them. I wouldn't mind spending a little to keep this from happening again...Kelly

Re: Poll: New HT gas ball valve
Thanks. I made a purchase of valves and barbs, and have started assembly. Watch for them on our website soon!

Re: Poll: New HT gas ball valve
Cool, looks much better than the brass one that comes with the kits. Thanks Pablo ...Kelly
