motor smoking
I ran my bike yesterday for about 5 minutes, when I turned the motor off is started smoking like if it had overheated. Is this normal?

Re: motor smoking
No, it's not normal.
Check your spark plug for a thick oily residue. What ratio oil mix are you running?

Re: motor smoking
I'm mixing 20:1. I'm still breaking in the motor. I just have ridden it 3 times with yesteray.

Is the smoke coming out of the exhaust?

Re: motor smoking
If your running 20:1 it's probably just oil burning in the muffler. I wouldn't worry about. Like Norman says "Ride it like ya stole it".....................

Re: motor smoking
Thanks, I'll keep an eye on it. If it keeps it up, should I pour more gas in the tank to make it leaner?

Re: motor smoking
After the manufacturers suggested breakin period I would run 32:1. Smoke coming out of the exhaust won't hurt anything........................

Re: motor smoking
It'll just make a mess is all
Anyway, after you are finished with the break-in period, if it still smokes, give everything a good cleaning. If it STILL smokes, then there may be more questions to answer.

Re: motor smoking
Don't just pour gas into the tank to lean out the mixture....danger danger Will Robinson!
