Default other uses for motor

just a thought I was wondering if anybody has ever made a frame to mount a bike frame to leave the rear wheel rim on mount on a motor kit and use a belt to drive a generator to charge up battery bank to make cheap electric power you could start it by peddling and make a fan to keep it cool you wouldn't have to run it much to keep it charged run the battery bank to a inverter to make 120v

Not really a practical idea when you look at the small compact generators available for campers and such. I would think the cooling fan would require a huge chunk of the power you'd be generating; then you have the noise and exhaust to deal with. Hate to be a wet blanket but it doesn't sound promising at first view.
Some time back there was another thread about alternate uses for the Chinese 2 strokes. Boats were mentioned as well as several other ideas. It is generally thought however that due to the specialization of design that they lend themselves best to the task of haulin' our butts around on a bicycle.

One of these engines would be straining to produce 700W running full out once you factor in the engine's efficiency, the drive system for the generator and the generator's efficiency. Then there's the 100W or more you'd need for the fan to cool it. It could be done and would work but not be very practical.
