Thumbs up Neat Electric Bike Project

Im sure I read on here somewhere that Deacon was wondering about welding/bolting a cog on the opposite side of the back wheel to be driven by a motor? Its something I also have thought about.

Look no further as this guy has done it and come up with a neat looking bike...

Eric Peltzer's Electric Bicycle

Its all a bit technical for me to get my head round but I dare say some of you tech guys will understand it.

Regards
Tom

I agree it looks like a dandy build. That belt jack shaft thing is interesting. you know the more I run the rino drive the more i realize how important the slip factor is. I expect that is possible with the belt drive as well.

When the strain on the motor would be so bad as to burn the bike up, the drive wheel skips over the bicycle wheel releaving some of the strain. With the sprocket and chain it just won't do it but with the belt it might be possible to run an non geared motor like I do on the friction drive.
