Default How to prevent the float from sticking

I hear of people having problems with their float sticking and causing fuel to leak out of the carb. My friend says when he hits a bumb sometimes the float sticks. I plan on riding my bike off road a lot and I don't want this to happen to me while I am up in the mountains. Do any of you have any tricks or ideas to keep this from happening?

I searched the forum and couldn't find an answer to this.

Thanks for the help!

The only way it would stick is if some trash gets in between the float needle and the seat.....I good fuel filter would solve that problem....

Is it not caused by the prongs sticking or something?

You mean where the pin goes through the float/needle???There`s nothing there for it to get stuck on....First thing I do is install a FUEL FILTER......Pretty simple carb. but the smallest peice of junk will mess up your day.....
