Re: new whizzer kit
I got the kit for mine dad some years ago. I payed $900 for it. Someone said they stop sell the kit do to for $200 or little more you can pay the whole bike. I found that out later. You back up to $800 off ebay. If you go on Craigslist you can see then for the whole bike that price.

Re: new whizzer kit
I went too the site, and in comments it looks like it is hard to get an answer about conserns of engine type even. Also,I think $399 would be more apealing if the shipping was not $220 rather $100 or less maybe would spark more interest

If was $500 for the kit would be nice. I went look the ebay more and that is the people that make the Whizzer in Tiwian. That is way it is more then iit was made in China.

Re: new whizzer kit
Hi Doug,
Kit has serious problems and will cost to correct it. The head runs way too hot due to design. The valve are mounted in a block module that has been a problem [usually replacement is needed], the lifters are soft & too heavy, the bearing in the side cover that supports the cranksahft has been downgraded to a ball bearing from the HD needle bearing. The valve module isn't flush with the cylinder and stops the head from sealing correctly, the metal is brittle and the head bolt threads shear. If the metal sheared because of improper curing then even heli-coils won't stay in. The list goes on, but you would be wiser to buy any model from 2005/2006/ mid 2007 and make minor changes instead of trying to cope with the major issues of the motor offered.
Be careful!
Have fun,

Re: new whizzer kit
If you view the sellers other items he has other parts, motors etc.. listed but they're located in Taiwan... Might be the reason for the shipping cost.

Re: new whizzer kit
Whizzer kit is 138 CC and requires MC lic in most states.
Kit is made in Tiawan by the same as made the Whizzers from 1999 to 2009, but the kits listed aren't authorized by the American company and aren't even close in quality to the earlier Whizzer versions.
Wanna see what is really inside the motor, just let me know and I will attach pictures to another post.
If you elect to ignor my comments, I will gladly sell you the parts to make it work correctly for about $375.00 [cylinder, head, head gasket, head bolts, base gasket, compression cover gasket, side cover gasket, labor to re-work lifters, etc]
Please be careful, very careful.

Re: new whizzer kit
Thanks Quenton thats exactly the type of input i was looking for.I'm building a boardtrack replica with a chinese 2 stroke and would really like to put a whizzer engine in it in the long run.I have an original 48 j model parked in my game room and really like the 4 stroke. Guess i'll keep looking for a late model complete bike for a donor motor
