Re: wich car
The Trans Am will eat you alive for gas costs, the Mitsubishi in maintenance and repairs. The Trans Am may hold it's value.

Re: wich car
Neither car in my opinion and no car if you can't pay for it upfront meaning no finance.
What are you requirements for a car? Personally, I would recommend a 10-15 year old Nissan Altima. The 2.4l and 2.5L engines are pretty peppy and can easily last 300k with routine maintenance. Highway Fuel economy is in upper 20's with an auto.
I'm into practical vehicles and putting money in the bank for future expenses such as a new home, life changing events, and retirement. With gas over 4 bucks/gallon a sporty car isn't practical.

Re: wich car
If I made 40 grand a year, I wouldn't know what to do with 30 of it!
I voted trans am, but you get whatever trips your trigger.

Re: wich car
The Mitsu is not a maintenance nightmare- not bad in fact...and no roof, better mileage- what kind of miles?

I'm only going on the things I have heard from my sister who owns a Mitsubishi Eclipse 4wd turbo....she has spent almost as much on maintenance and repairs as she did buying the car new. In fairness, she is a semi pro drag racer.
