Mounting disk brake

has anyone tryed mounting a disk brake
rotor the same way we mount the sproket????

That would be a disaster, broken spokes everywhere and that's if you could even get the caliper mounted to properly match up with the rotor. There is a reason that hubs are made specifically for disc brakes.

Stick to the standard mounting methods to prevent damage.
However, I encourage you continue to question the way we do things and look for alternatives.

why is it a good enuff way to push
our bike to 30mph+ speeds but not
good enuff to stop us

Do you think the torque forces generated on braking equal the forces generated by a piss pot HT engine accelerating or maintaining speed?

When it comes down to it - the "rag joint" style of sprocket mounting is a stop gap, half ***ed method at best TBH, I'd hate to compound alla problems with sprocket alignment w/brake issues too... not to mention the probability of rotor fouling w/chain oil.

Jim makes an awesome adapter that bypasses all that BS and it seems to me I saw a disk adapter around sumwheres... bedanged if I can remember where tho lol

ok since disk seems out i found around my shop
an old puch moped wheel with drum brake
its 17 " wheel but looks ok to me
with my xtra chop it helps get the pedels
closer to the ground
ill post pic tomarow
