With an Ebike the rules go right out the window. For instance at the beach you might get great range on a battery setup, then take that same setup inland a couple of hundred miles and see it cut in half. I can hear my batteries whimper on a long incline. Yes you do get to coast down the backside, but it just isn't the same as a flat ride. There are no flat rides where I live, so it's a real challenge to ride an ebike here. Of course I'm also not exactly skinny, so that also changes the range of the batteries.

I suppose there is still a lot to learn and a long way to go.
