[I Love My Bicycle]

Is there a muffler out there that is capable of quieting the awfully loud noise of these two stroke engines?

I have a damaged ear and the noise is making my ringing much louder.

Good question, I've heard the long "poo poo" pipes do ok, but I wouldn't know from personal experience as I wanted a performance gain as well. With that in mind I got the SBP tuned pipe and extended the glasspack to quiet it down (four rivets, chunk of conduit, screen tube, and fiberglass insulation is all), which actually worked quite well in combination with the length of heater hose on the very end (they also sell an additional tip muffler as an accessory... but I don't have it);

If yer not too concerned with it's lack of visual appeal, this modification helps baffle the intake scream quite a bit;

These mods combined result in the clutch whine becoming very apparent, so you might wanna attend to that as well. There's been a ton of suggestions regarding that - I've found a coupla coats of rubberized undercoating on the inside of the clutch cover does a pretty good job.

I built that bike in just about the space you see using a 10mm box end wrench, a 10mm ratchet, a small adjustable (those I borrowed lol), hex key set, a cordless drill/driver, pliers and a Dremel.

I didn't start to actually buy tools till I was done building the bike and riding it around o_O I have just given back my buddy's stuff lol


It's really the Dremel I rely on most for mods

I cant even hear my engine running, maybe you should turn your idling down and make sure your muffler gasket isnt leaking. and dont forget theres also noise coming from the intake,which i installed a intake hose and pipe with filter screen to cut down on noise.
i used pieces of rubber hose inbetween my fins on my engine sides and top to get rid of rigging noises, and for the clutch rubbing on cover i used 3 gaskets.

So to decrease RPM I should rotate the Idle Pin which way?

turn it so that it screws out. All it really is is a screw that rests against a tapered notch in the throttle slide and holds it open. if you unscrew it a little, then you allow the slide to close a little.

to decrease idle and noise turn screw counterclockwise or to the left and out. when it starts to stall turn clockwise 1/2 turn.

These engines arent noisy.. They are actually quieter than some of the real motorcycles on the road...

It will be noisy if your exhaust gasket blew or your exhaust cap came off..

You need to go to the doctor and get yer ears checked ASAP
