its a 2.8hp 97 cc 4 stroke , that came from a ( baja dirt bug/doodle bug ) that i picked up for $60 . i wanted to use a honda gx100qa but they run ove $500 . i went with this motor because they are relatively easy to find used . people buy the dirtbug/doodlebugs and find that the motor isn,t big enough to handle an adults wieght , so they end up swapping them out with a cheap 6hp motor

those 97cc birtbug minibikes run 8-1 direct from the engine shaft to the rear wheel , so you can imagine how slow they take off from a standing start with a 200lbs adult on it .

i have a thread in the DIY section called ( projekt nuchendfuttz ) with more info and picks of what i did

this is the prototype for my next project , unfortunately with that wide motor on that small frame theres no way i could keep the pedals on

my next one will have 26inch wheels and a fully custom scratch built frame ( with pedals ) using the same motor

i,ve had a few requests for a drive-by video so here it is .
bike is pretty much complete now , with brakes and foot rests .
if you pause the video , after it says ( you get this ) you can see the footrests i made out of bicycle pedals .
