Default Weed Wacker Mounting Idea

If you mount the motor on a swiveling joint , lets say about 3 or 4 inches in front of the centerline of your wheel , just the force of the drive roller spinning against the tire will push your roller onto the wheel .

if you are too far from the centerline , it will just rub
too close to the centerline , it will ride off the back of the wheel .

something like this could use an old ten speed shifter lever to easily raise the roller off the wheel

Sounds very intriguing. I have mounted my friction drive on a swivel. It works well but is much more complicated than I understand your suggestion.

Can you clarify how you would engage/disengage the motor?
