Default Shimming drive sprocket

I have almost completed my first install, just need to align the chain and was wondering if it is safe to put more shims/washers behind the drive sprocket on the engine to get the sprocket to sit a bit further out? My only concern in doing this is will it put pressure on the bearing behind the sprocket?

Default Re: Shimming drive sprocket

I didn't think it was possible to shim those sprockets!?!? I thought the end of the clutch spindal is tapered & the sprocket wedges down on it?.?.. I'll have to try it!

That's why I love this place... I still learn some good stuff here!
