Where have you been?
Thought I would start a thread to those that kinda dissapeared for a while.
HEY! I fall in that category!!!
I've always been around but lately just lurking and posting ocassionally.
I still ride daily. I've made small changes to the Buggy bike I'll try to post this weekend.
Most of my time lately has been spent worrying about my daughter.
Navy Boot Camp in Great Lakes. 2 weeks without a letter from her it's absolutely killing me
that's my little girl.
Hopefully she'll survive BT. Then it's Florida for a year and a half of A School.
Then she's gonna do Air Crew.
I used to be like a DAILY poster man every day both forums always a post or ten a day.
I'll come back.
I'm making a bit more money now and although were saving up to go to Chicago to see my little girl graduate I got my eye on that Frame mount Titan to a five speed on a stretch cruiser with ape hangers. With that engine placement having the right sized cables to ape hangers should be no problem.
Yes. I need me a bike #4.
Maybe I'll hit up Duane after Christmas gotta stay realistic here I seem to be always buying stuff for others.
My weight has been 270ish. Still go to Bally's but my weight has stuck. It's my fault. No one in my home any more. Son moved out,Daughter is fighting for our country,Mother in Law passed away early this year so it's just the wife and I and my Host Home guy in our home.
And sometimes I would just sit there in front of the TV and something makes me think of my daughter then the tears flow. Then I open the fridge.
It's gonna stop TODAY. I have a little over a month to lose a bit more. I don't want to see my daughter unless I lose a bit more.
And I'm seriously thinking of donating my pony tail to Locks Of Love just so I can look good in Chicago.
She had her hair hacked off.
It's only fair.
Maybe today we'll get a letter from her.
Wife and I have been writing every day.

Re: Where have you been?
I'll know where you're coming from Large. My oldest leaves for USAF BT in November.
He told his recruiter that it would really upset his mom when they bumped him back from Sept. to Nov. for his leave date because this will be his first Christmas away from home, recruiter said "Your parents have had 18 Christmases with you, they'll get over it." lol

Re: Where have you been?
I luck out there. She'll be home for Christmas.
There's a certain pride you get when your loved one joins the military. I mean the main reason for joining to her was so that she can have a decent education she was always bright in school.
But by now I'm thinking for her it's much more than a free education.
I never thought I would experience this pride. But at the same time the other day I was outside my door and I saw two military guys drive up my street.
I about went nuts. Then they drove past me.
I'm going nuts right now just wondering what she is doing right now and who is messing with her head.

Re: Where have you been?
The military life is a very good life. At least it used to be. I spent 26 years in the USAF and have a very nice ($2700) monthly pension. Went in in 62' and retired in 88'. Only conflict I was involved in was Vietnam. It was hairy, but I came through it OK.

Re: Where have you been?
Large,
'No news is good news', especially when they're in boot. She's probably thinking of you as much as your thinking bout her, only she's a whole lot busier than you are right now. She will always be your 'little girl', but understand, that now she is one of this nations daughters. We're all very proud of her and all those that guard our freedoms. They are in our hearts, minds and prayers always.
Thanks for shareing.......

Re: Where have you been?
I'm still around sort of. I've taken a job that has me away from home for long stretches working an Archaeology project in Utah. The company provides transportation so I don't have my bike with me. It would be nice to have though. Strange Town + No Transportation = Boring! The project will likely be done before the end of the year though so I'll be back here, unemployed and with way too much time on my hands!

Re: Where have you been?
where have I been and what have I seen without being obscene
difficult question my son.
all joking aside I walked to the closest shops 5 mins walk and I met one of my nephews
And we went in his van to better shops
then he took me home saw mike bike and said this is the best bike yourve built yet uncle
He live on like a commune us locasl call the funny farm
So we throw one of my pedal bikes into his van and we were off to the funny farm and I can ride home later its mostly downhill
The owner of the farm son has a 2 litre supercharged 6 cylinder toyoata engine in his 4wheel drive offroader 260hp Im told
the rest of the day was socialising
Oh and I bought a data cable for my camera phone off Trade Me pay $15 tomorrow and it comes in the mail.
So if all goes well I will be able to post pics soon
I was looking in my van toyota Hi Ace and there is a cable roller on the handbrake and I need to find a spare one for the clutch on my bike.
Thanks for the idea bro
