Default Hi from Dallas area

Noticed while googling someone asked about legality of motorized bikes in Texas...I used to deliver to Pep Boys stores and a guy on the Army base in El Paso said as long as his scooter was under 50cc no insurance or license was required at least on the base not sure if that pertains to us civilians. Cop gotta be pretty bored to harass a bike rider. Funny thing in Texas no helmet law for motorcycles but there is one for bicycles...I know a homeless dude that had several bikes confiscated for no helmet near downtown Dallas.

Welcome from California!
Around here the law says you gotta wear a helmet for operating damned near anything on 2 wheels.
All in the name of "protecting us from ourselves". Baaa humbug!
This forum is awesome! Sit down for a while and look around, the knowledge here is incredible.

Hi George, welcome to the forums. I'm from from Dallas, but live in Lewisville now. There have been a few people over the last couple of days show up from the Dallas area. Stay awhile, you might like it.
