Default Greetings from the Mid-West

Hello,
New to the board.
I am just starting on this journey. I just finished putting a 49cc on my 1967 Schwinn cruiser. Had to make a front mount for it, but that's nothing really. Just scrounged in the garage for leftovers from other projects and a little welding later, was done.
I have a 1939 Hawthorn I am thinking about making a board track racer style, but that's after I work the bugs out of the Schwinn.
Speaking of the Schwinn, I rode it just a few times and the part on the trottle that holds the cable in the handle, broke.
Stupid plastic.
Anyone have an extra they would be willing to part with?
Thanks for the great site.

Welcome from California!
Please post pics when you can.
I am especially intrested in your Hawthorne.
Here's mine: http://motorbicycling.com/f15/pictur...rne-10546.html

As for your throttle issue, if you are good with fabricating cables, try a minibike throttle. At least they are made out of metal. Though you will need to come up with a different kill switch.
