Default Mount it sideways?

Just about the right rpm rating. looks like a hypoid ring and pinion. Available right or left. 1.25 inch output shaft! Hacksaw and dremel it down to eight lbs (i'd bet).

128 x 14 equals about 1575 which makes sense as a typical electric motor speed. Have to check with Magnetek about the possibility of running it at three to four times this with a gas engine. That would put the output at about 385 to 500 rpm. At bicycle crankset rpm in the 30 to 100 range this is not out of range for our purposes (if you want to power the crankset like I do).

With any luck that pinion gear is self supported (instead of merely an extension of the motor shaft) and has an easily adaptable input.
