muffler mounting fit problems

bike motor kit . com 65cc motor muffler will not allow pedals to rotate 360 degrees. I am thinking of mounting the muffer to engine and heating the pipe between the mounting flange and muffler with a propane torch and bending the unit to a functiong position. Does any one have any suggestions ?
I would sure be thankfull for any help.

Sometimes you can just file the mounting holes a little bigger & simply turn the pipe inward & out of the cranks way...

Or just bend it a little without heating it. (be careful not to "kink" the pipe)

Cabinfever makes a good point. You'd do better to clamp the flange in a vice and bend the pipe carefully. It will bend cold but it takes some force and you don't want to kink it. Go slow and bend just a little at a time until the pedal/crank clear. If you have the equipment you can make a jig to clamp in the vice with a short section of 1/4" or 3/8" steel flat stock and two bolts. Drill the steel to match the flange bolt holes, bolt the pipe to it and clamp the steel in the vice to keep from damaging the finish, especially if it is a chrome pipe. Or do like Venice Boy suggested and 'woller' out the holes a little. You might get enough movement that way to get the necessary clearance. By the way, "wollerin' out holes is a highly technical machinist term we use here.
