New member looking for feedback on ideas

So I just happen to see a motorized bicycle while surfing, I was instantly doomed to try it . So since I've been poor this month I've been doing research. I'm thinking about getting a GEBE kit, I really don't want to spend money on a chinese kit and then more on a more reliable kit. The real choice is the bike frame. On the GEBE kits, the hub drives the wheel, so the gears don't matter right? So I was thinking about getting a Schwinn Coffee single speed or making a single speed from an old Schwinn Collegiate or World or something. Any ideas?

Go with the H.D. wheel. The kit sprocket and old style friction brake will let you down.
