haven't seen this in over a year, but some kits had the black clutch material with white threads on one side - in a few rare cases, there were also some hair-fine steel wires sticking out of these pads

if those wires were not all clipped off, they could break off and jamb up the tiny bearings in the clutch hub

just had a customer come in with locked up clutch due to this - don't know if this is a really old kit or if the problem is back, but it pays to check for wires before running it

Yeah crassius, I've seen the pads yer talking about. Tiny little wires All in them. But I've never had that problem with them. Now that I know, I think I'll avoid them from now on.
