Zilla I'm missing the bucking bar an pin for the clutch arm. Do you know if I could buy this online and are they a universal part or do I need to measure an look for this buckin bar with the specific measurements?

Yes... its missing one of the 3 pieces but you can get a new rag joint off ebay for under $10 then you'll have somenspare parts...
I was reading about your clutch missing the bucking bar and steel ball too... no big deal as these are cheap on ebay too

You can still assemble the rag joint the right way but with the missing piece it may be difficlut to adjust the sprocket straight, you can remove the chain in the meantime to tinker with the engine or rear wheel until your clutch parts come in

Mike, if you'll send me a PM (personal message) with your address, I'll send you the assembly instructions that came with my kit. This may help you visualize some of things that we've been discussing. The instructions may not be exact to your kit, but they'll be close enough to get you going in the correct direction.

There ya go...
I have to agree on the instructions being inaccurate too... my first kit instructions told me wrong how to assemble the rag joint... it told me both rubber rings were supposed to go outside the spokes... which would badly misalign the rear sprocket as well as possibly ruining a few spokes...

Good to see people helping like this (^)
There is also a lot of us who have extra parts that we can share from time to time and most parts are "universal fit" so they should work on yours. I got a 49cc engine at my shop with a bad cylinder and piston too so I may have a few parts you may need like an extra fuel valve, and some engine parts that are usable

I can also look and see if I got that missing part for the rag joint but I'm not sure if I got a spare... I do have a few spare bucking bars and steel balls for the clutch tho...

I can send a rag joint with the instructions --- I've got an extra. Don't have a fuel valve though. Also, by looking at the pics, the spark plug wire kinda looks suspect where it screws into the CDI. I may have an extra one of those, also.

Does your clutch arm come right out or do you have to turn it a certain way to remove it? I may have that part for the 49cc engine on that bad engine I got at the shop and I could send it to you... just pm me your mailing address... I know I wont be needing it and it'll just sit collecting dust in my shop

Also... how far from Miami are you? There's a guy in Miami that sells parts on ebay, but you might be able to visit his shop and get a lot of the stuff you need to get up and running...

First off thank you all so much. The last couple of months have been pretty tuff an to finally get to spend a little time on me with something that I've also had a huge interest on scenes I was young is pretty awesome. You guys are really making me feel comtable an excited to get dirty an have FUN!!! Miami is two hours away but I take my step daughter to miami every other month to get my step daughters cochlear implants adjusted. So if you have a phone number or address I think I could make a detour but that's in three weeks. Do you guys need me to take pictures of anything else? I think Monday on my half day off I'm going to take the engine off an apart.

Davezilla: yes it slides right out with no twisting or pressure.

I'll see if the clutch cover assembly I got is intact and complete... its yours if its complete since that roll pin that holds the arm in place can be difficult to reinstall or may not stay put if it fell out of the cover you got.

Look up a seller named mzmiami on ebay... he has a shop and stocks a lot of motorized bicycle parts, I buy from him often so I'll see if I got his address... this could be a good help for you later on since you can go to his shop in person if your in the area and need parts or one on one advice on anything bike related. It also seems like some of the parts I've ordered recently came from another seller in ft Meyers so I will go back and see where they are as well... I think pedalchopper's shop may be in ft Meyers since I've bought a lot of parts from him very recently for my stingray build I'm currently working on.

Yup... this guy's shop is in ft Myers ... http://www.pedalchopper.com/recent-build-web-ster/
you may be able to get some parts or one one in person help there if needed too. He specialises in occ stingrays but he also sells engines and parts... so he may also be a good help getting you up and running if you run into any problems or just want to check out his shop... he builds some really cool bikes too...

By the way, mikeab, you've mentioned that you can not turn your rear wheel. This is because of the missing bucking bar and bearing. Your clutch is not able to disengage.

So don't worry about flower nuts and such for right now. There's at least a decent chance that those missing parts will fix you up when you've got them.

everyone seems to be all excited here about little things - that bike probably was running when the guy parked it, and the petcock got broken while sitting around

it needs a petcock to run (and fix anything you broke by taking it apart), then start it up before beginning the process of cleaning & fixing a lot opf small problems
