Ever seem like your engine doesnt feel "solid"?

When I ride my motorbike (49cc HS) i like to feel good solid power. When I rev it i want it to sound crisp and clean, but when I have been riding it, i feel like its not as..... "clean" as it should be. I dont know if I am saying this right though...

Is the engine broken in yet? Is it a 2 or a 4 stroke? If 2: what is your oil-to-gas mix ratio? I assume all nuts & bolts as tight as need be and drive chain is well-aligned and has no more than a half-inch of slack.

Check for intake or exhaust leaks, check your valve adjustment again. The stock intake airbox has brass spacers that can push through the box and cause a slight intake leak. I recommend replacing it with an aftermarket airfilter, if you haven't already. If everything looks fine, your carb might be starting to get gummed up, or you have unreal expectations from what is essentially a utility engine :p

49cc HS = Huasheng 4-stroke, a copy of the Honda GXH50.

get a ninety tooth sprocket.that'll crisp it up a little.
it might sound snappy when not under load,but it's never gonna pull like a small-block chevy powered barstool.

my supervisor at work (government job) told me i need to lower my expectations.
