This idea came from one of the threads about split fire plugs. It has origins in motorcycle racing I was told. I've been running a hand modified plug just like this for about 800 miles now. It seems like it helps keep a colder plug from fouling. I made another so I could post a couple pics. The pics aren't that great but you get the idea. It's pretty easy to see how it exposes alot more of the firing area. I slid a thin piece of sheet metal in between the ground and the electrode to do the filing. It's not a sharp point just well tapered. The first pic is the stock NGK.
