I recall cowboying down a lotta dirt road in Wyoming back when.
Not the best surface for friction though. Those were fun days,
flinging gravel at prairie dogs going 80.
KC, I hope you've quit smoking; it makes a world of difference.
After 35 yrs. I quit 15 yrs ago, and I'm way fitter than I was in
my 40s. Damn things are a helluva lot worse than heroin.

Sry guys,
I just couldn't help myself. I found a $60 Adidas windbreaker at
the Goodwill for $3. OMG, I'm a spandexter!

Not too many adults where I live have likely ever seen so much as a picture of a vintage motorbike. So they have no clue what to make of my bike. But the kids out here in my neighborhood seem to love it. They love to pedal alongside me, so I keep my speed down a bit and I try to school them in bike safety. But now and then, if the way is clear, I wring her out a bit.
One of my daughters' little friends saw the owner of the blue Victory getting his 'cycle ready, and she went over and was telling him how very fast my motorbike was. Of course that guy (and I) knew the Victory would totally smoke mine. But he just smiled and nodded as this little girl bragged on me. He looked at me; I shrugged; he shrugged and smiled. Then we kinda rode our separate ways.
Non sequitur: I seem to be the go-to guy when the local kids need bike repairs. I like working for kids, they seem so appreciative.

I passed a young woman going the other way a few days ago on a
newish Gitane road bike while I was pedaling under power uphill in
the opposite direction. She threw the most contemptuous look I've
had since Ive been riding motorized bicycles.
I thought to myself,'just wait 'til you're 65 and have broken as many
bones as I have.'
Lately I've been doing more pedaling on a regular bike than riding one of
my motorized bicycles. I pedaled by the same gal yesterday wearing my new found
Adidas on my cruzerized Raleigh mixte and she smiled but didn't recognize
me. 'Tis nice of her to recind my leper status, I thought.

Ya see, it's not quite that way where I live ---- the land of lazy-arses. When I ride in my neighborhood, you see all these nice unridden bikes stored in the garages. If the people are outside, you see this look of -- 'if only my bike had an engine on it, I just might ride the thing'.....

cvlt1Gawd yes!
I see dozens of unridden bikes every day, and that's
just counting the ones hanging in bike racks on RVs &
Priuses(what's the plural of Prius?) The yards in my
neighborhood are full of idle bikes.
However....., I am also seeing more & more riders than
ever before.

Prium. Or maybe Priuse. Priooses? Priuce? Priuaii? Pri-them? (variation on Pry-us.)

My wife says it's a latin adjective meaning first, so there is no plural form unless you're referring to ancestor spirits rather than cars. Maybe that's why I only see one of them at any given time.
