Cable lube from a spray can with the cable luber attachment.
I usually just remove the cable from the sheath and lube it with light oil, but I'm cheap.

i use the same grease i use in my bearings. the clutch cable is easy, just pull out the cable and grab a glob of grease between your finger and thumb and pull the cable through.
for the throttle i do the same thing, but i cut the end off to shorten my cable and solder a new one on.
the "best" lube to squirt in there is powdered graphite.

If you're too lazy, like me, to remove the cable from the housing try letting some light, 20 weight, oil drip into the open end of the housing then use compressed air to blow it through. I cover the opposite end of the housing with paper towel so I don't spray the garage with oil. Seem to work good.

A good way to get the cable back in the sleeve is to use a dremel tool with a cut off wheel to cut off the frayed end.
It cuts it nice and clean! (& it also works to shorten the sleeve)

I pull the cable 99% of the way out, then it's easy to get it back in. I also turn it as I push it.
