I have a cheap'o walmart schwinn cruiser with a cheap'o China motor. The rear hub bearings gave out and tore up the race so I am taking this opportunity to replace the wheels. Looking at wheel master steel HD wheels from Niagra cycle.

My question is regarding rim size vs. tire size. The drive chain rubs the tire on the original 2.125 tires. Since i am buying new wheels, am I better served with 1.75" rims instead? I have also heard of people putting narrower tires (maybe 1.95") on the 2.125 rims. Any issues or opinions?

Thanks!

The 2" tires should work fine on a standard 26" wheel. I use a Husky steel wheel which is pretty wide.

Do not ride your bike with chain/tire hits, you will injure yourself.
