Yes. many have done it. The simplest involve a second fork, plates to mount the wheel and connect the two forks and then a spring or shock. Your original fork remains motionless while the the second fork and plates move with the bumps. You should be able to search on DIY springer fork on this site and find some. If not, model your fork after the "monark style" springer forks.

Here is a Monark Springer from one of our site sponsors. The plates I was referring to are where the front wheel attaches.

I found some inspiration on here and built this. I used my original fork with some extra tubing and plate. Works pretty good, a lot better than no suspension. It did have a rear MTB shock but it was way too stiff so I fashioned my own spring.
