I was sure at one time, I saw I believe it was a BMX parts supplier. It was a adapter to go from a single pivot side pull brake to a Linear-pull brakes or direct-pull brakes.

From Photo 1 brakes, a adapter to mount photo 2 brakes.

Now I can't seem to find it?

Hey Dave, I'm sure you've seen them on a couple of my bikes over the years.....you can mount them on front or rear as well.

I used to get them at Dan's Comp but they no longer carry them. They do however carry the adapter for the U-brakes (Dia Compe 990 and others). Just another possible option for you.

Dave,

DNA Powerstop-V is still being manufactured, but couldn't find a distributor in the USA - only UK

Might want to keep an eye out on BMXmuseum.com. Sometimes they come up for sale.

It might be best to have someone install some brazons. It might be cheaper in the long
run.

As a possibility, you might want to look at modifying a horseshoe for a horse or pony or a throwing since they do come in different widths and lengths - serious! Just might have to shorten the length or bend to modify the width. Just a thought.

Or use the U-brace off a suspension fork with the brake bosses already mounted.....just bolt and clamp.

And yes, it's easy enough to fabricate one of your own......yes it is.

Cheers,

Just for anybody that is interested, I found a site where someone made their own v-brake booster which is similar to the old v-brake adapters. It was machined out of aluminum, but can be made out of steel. It is a full size drawing which you can print out and trace onto your metal, as a pattern. Extra holes were drilled in the legs to lighten, as well on the top, left and right of the center hole.

*You'll have to change your print settings to "Landscape Mode" and change all the margins to 0.25 to print out properly.*
