Ok. I have heard different things about disc brakes. I have heard that some will only adapt to threaded hubs while others bolt on. does the bolt on type mount similar to how our rear sprockets mount? I am thinking I can find a way to adapt the disc brake caliper to a cruiser fork, but getting a rotor to mount on a cruiser rim is where I am stuck. is it possible?

You will need to change the hub to a disc brake hub.
Others have used rear 'flip flop' freewheel hub & a special adapter theat screws the rotor onto one side of the hub.

Either way, you must replace the hub.
