The clutch on my bike is slipping very badly. So bad that I can't even get the pistons to fire. Also, the smaller of the two gears (behind the clutch cover) is wobbly, maybe bent.

This is on one of the regular 2 cycle china engines.

I'm aware the first obvious step would be to remove the smaller gear; however, I'm having some difficulty doing. Not sure where the tool that came with the kit ran off too.

Very hard to bend the gear, also the crankshaft. Possible the crankshaft split in two. If you are lucky it's just a bad bearing or the woodsruff key is sheared. Hard to remove the gear without the tool or while the large gear is installed, which you still need the tool.
