personally i wont ever use a hub drive again, look at sick bike parts mid drive then buy a battery, reasons more torque uses bikes gearing to drive it so climbing hills isn't an issue, better cruise speed thanks to using the gears

only real upgrade you need to the wheel is 12g spokes.........

your welcome........

i have both these kits but haven't yet tried my new one which is the "large motor" kit
reason i got it is because from what i hear the larger motor is far less prone to over heat shut downs an is much quieter due to having nylon planetary gears the smaller one is metal (which makes it whiny) the smaller motor also needs a heat sink

honestly though you can't lose with either i have about 3000+ miles on mine an would never go back(wards) to a hub drive, i can out climb an out run with ease my old hub that was of equal power (roughly) hub was 1000w my mid-drive is 1260 both were/are 48v.............

IMHO 12g spokes are a must!! the torque will snap 14g's (common standard spoke size)
with ease, it's not hard just swap one spoke at a time then follow this video to straighten an tighten all the spokes https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=caCloMziaCk&app=desktop (that's if you don't already know how to do it).............

good luck..........ps, get a HD or ultra HD freewheel for the front chain wheel both are rebuildable with the park tool SBP sells an highly recommended!........
