I came up on a problem with a mountain bike I was putting a motor on. The chain hit the frame because the bike frame was narrower in the front of the axle and got wider toward the rear axle. After alot of thought and a little luck I found something that works great expanding the frame that gave me all the clearance I needed. I bought a strut spring compresser tool at Harbor Freight for $10 bucks. I took the two hooks that slide on the big bolts and turned them around on one bolt with the nuts so that when you turned the nuts the hooks will expand instead of compressing.
