So after having a piston ring pin fall out and ruin a piston and jug I am doing some rebuild work. I got the top end the way I wanted it and decided to rough up the clutch pads and plates a bit for some more bite. However when I try to engage the clutch, instead of the clutch releasing, the entire clutch shaft slides out the other side and pushes the sprocket side bearing into the case. I have pushed everything back into place but it is quite loose now and will not stay in place. I have not run into this before and am at loss as to how to fix it. I have tried searching but must not know the right phrase to look for. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

yes, only a loose sprocket on left or loose clutch on right will allow shaft to move very much
