Hello All, i just took my 1946 Whizzer out today for the first ride of the year and just a few hundred feet from my house i hear a new noise coming from the rear so, i turn right around and head back to the garage to see what it was and found that the lower fender bracket snapped right at the fender.
I know why this happened..i drape a leather backpack over the rear fender when i go on long rides so that i have room to carry some tools, water, snacks..i usually go for all day rides and need to carry stuff. I'll have to come up with something else.
I took the broken bracket completely off and took it to our local farmers market because there is a guy there that has a lot of old bikes and parts but, nothing that was the same as the one i have...are the fenders and brackets unique to the Whizzer?
A friend of mine is going to weld it for me (paint & body man) but, i wonder if it will be too brittle if it is welded?
