I got my chain fitted but I can't get any decent tension on it with out the wheel going all wonky. What is the correct procedure for tensioning these diagonal dropouts?

Get you some chain tugs. Then tighten away!!! If they'll fit. I can't see your dropouts well in that picture. Mine are the old standard diagonal, so I had to use them, but also mine do not have any bolt on tangs for fenders like yours may have. Put up a close up picture!!!

You can either take a link out or go up (or down) on the sprocket size. Either the chain ring or the wheel sprocket can be swapped.
