I have built several kits but now I'm looking to take it to the next level and try a home build.....It will be based on a 50's cruiser frame and I would like to avoid cutting it if possible. I have been looking along the lines of a maytag 92 or something like that any suggestions ?

A l-head briggs is allways a great choice, just make sure the frame is strong enough, and your brakes are allways good. When you get 40lbs of bike, +30lbs of motor plus the rider's weight, you've got a tall order to fill with just a coaster brake. Disk or drum's are good
