Testing the best!

Finished!

2000 miles at average speed of 35 MPH. The Q-Matic belt test is complete. Belt looks brand new after 2000 hard miles. Next to impossible to tell a new belt from the belt with 2000 miles. The new Q-Matic internal idler system has proven superior to all other designs. Power transfer at the highest level possible [between 95% and 98%].

The test was conducted with the cover intact to check for high operating temperatures, and cover was only removed for pictures. The EZM Q-Matic cover completely protects the rider from burns [clutch can reach temperatures above 400 degrees, according to Jim Donavan Sr. at Max Torque] or entrapped clothing, but still allows cooling. The Q-Matic design keeps part of the clutch in the air stream while protecting the rider against burns or injury.

Final belt test yielded an average of 175 MPG even under extreme conditions. Tests were conducted using the 15.48 X 1 ratios, and most often the motor was running at 7500 RPMs for hours.

Time to start testing the new mystery drive system [can you say 2 speed?] EZM has completed the design on the most innovative drive every made to fit a motorbike, and will start the test program within a few days. Mike Simpson will start the pre-production testing on the west coast and will supply results concerning heavy riders. I am currently working with the first prototype and will start testing the pre-production version as soon as the machine shop completes the final changes.

EZM will post more information in another post very soon. We haven't even named the drive system yet and plan to ask for suggestions. Mach 2?, Versi-Drive Gold?, EZM 2-Speed? Dual-Power?
Working with Jim at Max Torque has widened possibilities beyond belief. He has offered EZM with an unlimited set of options and the new drive can be offered to fit any current need.

Just a clue to our design...... We will be using two Max Torque clutches, and the initial "stall" speed and shifting speeds can easily be altered to fit various riding styles.

If interested we can start production within a few months! The new drive system will fit all current and past EZM Q-Matic drives. We will offer an upgrade kit to convert the Q-Matic to 2-speed if there is an interest to do so. The new mystery drive is designed to fit our current drive configuration, so no one will need to wait and can purchase the Q-Matic and upgrade later at a reduced cost [many of the Q-Matic parts will be used in the new drive].

Have fun,
