question abut 4 stroking

can my engine start four stroking a little bit if my carb is running at the leanest notch? like is it starving furl, d i need t put the clip one notch down?

What everyone calls '4-stroking' is really just a 'sputtery' feeling caused by the carb being a little too rich... You're engine's most likely not starving for fuel if you're feeling 4-stroking.

Adjusting the clip on the needle won't change the fuel/air mixture at full throttle... Instead you'll have to install a smaller jet.

I like to jet my carbs to where I just feel a slight hint of 4-stroking, this way I know it's not too lean. ;)
