Looking at three Whizzers : 1. 2001, 24", 306 miles , $750 2. 2007, NE-5 , 90 miles ,$1300 3. 1991? , 200 miles , $999

I didn't think any were built in 1991 so have sent off an email to confirm the year . I think it may be a 2001.

All are original with no mods /updates .
Wonder if I would like the 24" . I'm 5' 8 1/2" tall . What is the wheelbase on the 24", the 26"?

The 2007's are the only one's that are any good. Earlier one's you listed had bad top ends. None were made in 91. They started in 98 with the newer Whizzers.

Thanks for the confirmation on the year 1991 . Also , I spoke to the owner and he got it from someone that owed him money . That person told him it was a "91" , said he didn't know for sure what year it was or anything about it . No "Certificate of Origin " or title . Is there a way to tell the year by serial number or some other markings ?

See previous post.

Color & size are best way to establish model & year.

The majority are 1999 and are black 26" and have thick emblems on each side of gas tank.

2001 to 2004 said Pacemaker II on the fork cover behind head light. 2003 was black 24" and said Panther on the fork cover.

2000 were all light blue and 24", the decals on tank sere large and white.

All motor from 1999 to 2004 were WC-1 versions and the head uses small 6 MM allen bolts, and the head is the same size as the cylinder.

All NE/SE motors the head looks much smaller than the cylinder, and uses 8 MM & 10 MM allen head bolts.

Have fun,

In 1992 there was an attempt made to market a reproduction Whizzer. The engine was re-designed around a Koehler K91 crank, rod, and piston. The engine and cylinder were of high silicon aluminum, and cast as a one- piece assembly. The gas tank is fiberglass, and resembles the embossed metal tank used on the "J" and later. Although it developed more horsepower than the originals, the engineering was not thorough enough, and the engine developed a horrible reputation for bad workmanship and dependability. The attempt was short- lived and not very successful. The engine, being cast in one piece, is relatively easy to spot.

Someday I'll get around to constructing a website with the missing history of Whizzer in the early and mid 1990's.

I have several photos of prototypes and marketed models I produced.

The 1991 Whizzer was produced in violation of trademark law.

Maybe that is why he has no paperwork ? So it is pretty worthless as far as a whizzer . Or maybe a platform for something else .
What could it be worth ? $3-$400 ?

Something as rare as that could bring a high dollar to the right collector. Collectors are a strange breed. If they want it they will pay!
