I built a motorized bike with a 80 cc china girl engine. Seems that the small gear that meets the clutch flywheel must have vibrated itself loose and stripped out.

Anyone else experience this ever? If so, how have you solved the problem. red Locktite?

Also, where do you buy your china girl parts. I need a crank gear...

The small gear is called the bevel gear... My woodruff key shered once and I stripped the threads that gear pulled needs to pull the gear.

I eventually got it out and I bought a replacement from thats Dax, he sells it it together with the gear, woodruff key, and the screw.

I would avoid red loctite in that location. The gear needs to come off to service the crankshaft.

Use blue (removable type) loctite. Or use some gummy sealer like permatex aviation sealer on the threads &let it dry over night before starting the engine.
