if your new copper manifold doesn't work well, use it to make some 'shine like Velodrome said. You win either way.
I do like seeing the DIY copper manifolds.

You are the winner, what do you win... well Johnny what does he win, well nothing. :-||

As some of you may be wondering how will these parts become an intake. The two union joints will be cut open and flattened to create the flanges for each end. These will be soldered on so the carb can be mounted like in the picture below.

shorty copper exhaust :) you need silver solder though
I'd use silver brazing rod. I used to be able to buy it in almost any hardware store. Comes in a 2 pack, packaged by Benzomatic with blue flux coating. This last year here in San Diego, most hardware stores stopped selling any kind of brazing rod....

Really handy stuff, can weld different metals together with it too, ie., stainless to mild steel, copper to mild steel, copper to stainless, etc.

You'll need an oxy-acetylene torch.
