Hey guys,

I am in the early stages of planning and research to put a chinese 2 stroke on my mountain bike. However, I am not sure one would actually work with the way my bike is built. Can some of you take a look and let me know what you think? As you can see, the one bar or strut on the front is an odd shape. Would this effect mounting? The main concern of mine is clearance for the chain. The supports in the rear bend inward as you can see. Thought I should ask before I order my kit.

Thanks!

Howdy Wiggle, welcome.

Looks like it would be tight from the pics but there are workarounds if it is.

It SHOULD fit with an offset or shorty manifold and a u-bolt front engine mount, but you will probably have to spread the rear frame with a jack to avoid chain rub. Use an old axle tightened in the wheel slots to hold the wheel end in proper alignment while you bend, and be sure not to crumple the tube. I use a compact car screw jack and flip the jack as needed to get both sides bent the same and use something at the contact point to spread the bending load.
