A neighbor was hit by a car last night while riding his motorized bike and he suffered a traumatic brain injury. Half of his skull was removed and he is not expected to live through the next 24 hours. Arizona doesn't have a helmet law. Send positive spooky thoughts to him and his family. And be careful out there!

An old biker friend told me this pearl of wisdom,

Whenever you ride, death rides along with you.

Not a happy thought, but if one keeps it in mind, it could serve to keep you more alert for trouble.

I'm so sorry for him and his family and friends. When something like this happens it's unexpected and tragic, I hope they can find comfort in the fact that he is enjoying life to the fullest. In honor we should always wear our helmets, even when popping down to the post office. I think he would want that from us if he can pull through.

Best wishes, hope he rides a spooky bike again!
