What do you think about rigging these up to shine down on the tires at night to add visibility?

While front and back lights are nice, I feel like illuminating the ground beneath the bike gives drivers a bit more depth perception.
Would these run off the white wire? Or, does anyone else have a suggestion as to a sufficient power source?
